Cleaning the bathroom doesn’t have to be an all-day task. With a well-structured plan and the right tools at hand, you can deep clean your bathroom in 30 minutes or less—leaving it sparkling fresh and hygienic. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you achieve a thorough clean, efficiently and effectively.
Start by removing everything from countertops, shower shelves, and the floor. This includes toiletries, bathmats, bins, and laundry. Open a window or turn on the extractor fan for ventilation. Put on your gloves and gather your cleaning supplies so everything is within reach.
Apply toilet bowl cleaner inside the bowl and let it sit. While it works, use disinfectant wipes or spray to clean the outside of the toilet—starting with the tank, then the handle, lid, seat, and finally the base. Don’t forget the area around the floor. Finish by scrubbing the inside of the bowl with the toilet brush and flushing.
Spray all-purpose cleaner or a mix of vinegar and water on the sink, taps, and worktops. Let it sit for a minute, then scrub using a sponge or cloth. Rinse and wipe dry with a microfibre cloth. For stubborn limescale, apply a paste of bicarbonate of soda and vinegar, leave for a few minutes, then scrub away.
Spray cleaner across the tiles, glass doors, and fixtures. Allow it to sit while you scrub the tub or shower tray. Use a scrubbing brush for grout or stubborn marks. Rinse everything well and wipe down with a clean cloth. For glass, use a glass cleaner or vinegar solution to remove streaks.
Wipe down mirrors with glass cleaner and a dry cloth. Then, sweep or vacuum the floor to remove dust and debris. Follow up with a quick mop or use a damp cloth to clean the floor tiles—paying special attention to corners and behind the toilet.
Replace all items you removed earlier, wiping them down as needed. Put out fresh towels and a clean bathmat. Empty and disinfect the bin. Give the room a final once-over to spot any missed areas. Light a candle or spray a fresh scent to finish.
With this time-efficient method, your bathroom can be deep cleaned in just half an hour, leaving you more time to enjoy the results and less time scrubbing. Clean smart—not hard!
